LIC Fear: A horror themed art show and film festival at the Waterfront



Long Island City Artists, Tessa Kennedy & Jason Artiga are curating a “Horror themed group art show and film festival” which is open to the public through the end of October at the The Plaxall Gallery.

The curated horror exhibit will feature art from Long Island City and Queens locals and will be open to the public for viewing during regular operating hours.

In addition to the gallery hours, The LIC Fear event will be capped off with a two day Horror Film Festival on Oct. 27th and Oct 28th followed by a Masquerade Ball on the 31st.

Thursday: 6pm – 10pm

Saturday & Sunday: 11am – 6pm

Film Festival

The LIC FEAR Film Festival is free to attend will also be held at the Plaxall Gallery on the evening of October 27th and 28th.

Head over to the LIC-A website application if you are a film maker from Queens or Long Island City and want to  your work to be considered for screening during the Oct. 27th & 28th Film Festival. According to the LIC Artist webpage, the submission deadline is midnight on Tuesday October 17th and you will be notified by October 19th if your film is accepted into the festival.

Masquerade Ball

The LIC Fear Fest will end with a Masquerade Ball on October 31st. Tickets for the Masquerade ball will be $35 at the door and are currently $25 online. Masks are required (obviously) but the event hosts have said that they will have some at the gallery in case you forget.

The party will feature:

  • Live Music
  • Hookah Lounge
  • Food and Drinks
  • Door Prizes
